Catch unusual card spend every Monday, before the bill arrives
Mitra watches card spend by comparing last week's charges against the last three months of the same vendors and categories. Every Monday at 8am the agent writes each charge it flagged into your Google Sheet with the comparison, then posts to Slack only the handful that need a human decision.
Every Monday at 8am, compare last week's Brex charges against the last three months, write anything unusual to the 'Flags' tab of my Google Sheet, and post to #ops only the charges that need a decision from me.

What the agent actually does.
Pull last week's charges
The agent reads every Brex transaction from the past week, with the vendor, amount, category and cardholder on each one.
Compare against three months
Each charge is measured against the same vendor and category over the last three months, so an ordinary week reads as ordinary and a doubled subscription does not.
Write the detail to a sheet
Every flagged charge goes into your Google Sheet with the amount, the usual range and one line on why it stood out, so the working is there when finance asks.
Post only what needs a decision
Slack gets the short list — the charges somebody has to approve, query or cancel. Everything else stays in the sheet, and the channel stays quiet on a normal week.
Leave a record
The run is written down step by step, so you can see which transactions were read and which were left alone.
Make it yours.
For the operations lead or chief of staff who owns the company card but cannot read every transaction line by line. Change any of this by saying so — there is nothing to rewire.
- Change the comparison window from three months to a full year.
- Only flag charges above a certain amount.
- Email the decision list to finance instead of posting it in Slack.
